Re: Skymapper is useful to study galactic globular clusters

  By: Георгий Гончаров on Oct. 31, 2021, 6:55 p.m.

Dear Christopher,

By the way, after my pilot study of using SMSS in globular cluster isochrone fitting (https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2021MNRAS.508.2688G/abstract), I would note (in order to identify new opportunities for the SkyMapper...

Dear Christopher,

Recently I published a paper using SkyMapper DR3. This is the isochrone fitting of three Galactic globular clusters, NGC288, NGC362, and NGC6218. I have to clean the SMSS data by use of Gaia EDR3 proper motions. This prov...

Dear Christopher,

Thank you very much! This helps.

SkyMapper filters effective wavelengths

  By: Георгий Гончаров on June 21, 2021, 2:48 p.m.

Hi! Which are the SkyMapper filters effective wavelengths? I cannot find them in the documentation. PARSEC (http://stev.oapd.inaf.it/cgi-bin/cmd) suggests some, but they provide strange results.

Thanks in advance,

George Gontcharov

Hi! As I understand, such an Australian astronomer must assume some obligations and fulfill some conditions. He would understand which data and where to take. Also, he/she should postpone his/her current research and ...

Skymapper is useful to study galactic globular clusters

  By: Георгий Гончаров on May 21, 2021, 4:50 a.m.

Hi, I am fitting theoretical isochrones to photometry of galactic globular clusters. For some of them the SkyMapper DR2 photometry appears very useful, covering HB, RGB, TO and MS. However, for some other clusters DR2 is too shallow: data a magnit...

Dear Christopher, Thank you very much! The second way does work. George

No access to DR2 data

  By: Георгий Гончаров on April 3, 2021, 9:15 p.m.

Hi

I need a cone within 3 deg around NGC60. It is at a high Galactic latitude (-62 deg) and, hence, produce <100000 raws. I have tried all the ways to access the DR2 data. Nothing provides results. For example, the cone seach returns "T...
