The Snake Dark Cloud in the constellation Ophiuchus is a dense cloud of dust that snakes in front of the bulge of the Milky Way Galaxy and absorbs the light of all the stars behind it. One day it may collapse and give birth to several new stars. (Photo: RSAA/SkyMapper, composed from Data Release 1)
